Additionally, cytotoxicity of the ethanolic extract of P. guajava leaves was tested and its low toxicity on fibroblasts was demonstrated, indicating that only high concentrations of the extracts would be the most effective (1000 µg/mL) and that the ethanolic extract was more effective than its metabolic fractions, so the metabolites could synergize in their parasitic activity against the promastigotes of L. brazilensis and L. infantum.…”
