Antioxidant activity of inflorescences, leaves and fruits of threeSorbusspecies in relation to their polyphenolic composition

Abstract: The antioxidant potential of 70% methanolic extracts from the inflorescences, leaves and fruits of Sorbus aucuparia, S. aria and S. intermedia was evaluated using three in vitro test systems (DPPH: 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl hydrazyl; TEAC: trolox equivalent antioxidant capacity and FRAP: ferric reducing/antioxidant power).
