“…Previous studies confirmed that rice consumption was the main route of MeHg exposure for local residents in inland Guizhou Province Zhang et al, 2010b). And fish consumption contributed only 1-2% of the total MeHg intake, because of its low daily fish Shao et al (2011);b, Shang et al (2010); c, is adopted from Shanghai data; d, Fu et al (2010), on the assumption of 70% of Hg in fish is in the form of MeHg; e, He et al (2010). consumption (1.1 g·d −1 ).…”

“…The specific PDIs for each province were calculated using the mean of MeHg concentrations in the rice or fish collected in this specific area. The rice MeHg concentrations in these 7 provinces were obtained through this investigation, while the fish MeHg concentrations in these 7 provinces were based on the data from literature (Fu et al, 2010;He et al, 2010;Shang et al, 2010;Shao et al, 2011). The fish MeHg data of Guangdong province was based on Shang et al (2010), which include 122 fish samples collected from 18 fish ponds from six cities in this province.…”

“…Aiuppa et al, 2006) or to leaching processes of ore deposits hosting poly-metallic sulfides (e.g. Fu et al, 2010 and references therein). The SI (Saturation Index) values of the main minerals of the Triassic evaporite sequence, computed using the PHREEQC v. 3.14 (Parkhurst and Appelo, 1999) software package (llnl database) considering the outlet temperatures of the waters, show that the HS and IS waters are slightly saturated (P0) in calcite and oversaturated in dolomite (Table 5).…”

“…One study by Jin et al (2006) was excluded because the examined fish was from a sampling site that was seriously polluted by local chemical factories, which is not representative of the general scenario in China. Several references were also excluded because the Hg concentrations presented were in dry-weight basis in fish muscle (Zhou and Wong 2000;Fu et al 2010); majority of the obtained studies reported their data in wet-weight basis and were included in this study. We used data from infra-specific freshwater fish species outside of China as a quantitative index of omega-3 FA because of the lack of omega-3 FA data on catfish and black bass.…”
