Abstract:Antimicrobial therapy is commonly used as an adjuvant in periodontitis involving tissue invasive pathogens, to prevent earlier repopulation of the above after periodontal therapy. In developing countries like India where empirical antimicrobial therapy is common, the antimicrobial resistance is a life threatening problem.
