“…Samples were collected from different infection sites including sputum (28.6%), urine (23.8%), blood (21.4%), burn wound swab (16.7%), and surgical wound swab (9.5%). This agreed with the review of Alharbi et al 6 which reported that the most common site of infection in patients admitted to general ICUs was respiratory tract, followed by urinary tract infections and bloodstream infections. The predominant species, isolated during the present study, were A. baumannii (18 isolates, 42.9%) followed by K. pneumoniae (16 isolates, 38.1%), E. coli (6 isolates, 14.3%) and P. stuartii (2 isolates, 4.7%).…”
