Abstract:Escherichia coli (E. coli) are common etiological agents of food borne diseases. A study on antimicrobial resistance and molecular detection of Extended-Spectrum β-lactamase resistance (ESBL) in E. coli from road-side suya meat was carried out. Suya meat (50 each from Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba) were collected; and E. coli was isolated and identified using cultural, morphological and biochemical characteristics.
