Abstract:Background: The scope of the study was to analyze original preclinical studies on the antimicrobial effects of carvacrol and derivatives on the Mycobacterium genus. Materials & methods: According to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement, four databases (PubMed, Web of Science, SCOPUS and EMBASE) were searched.
