“…It was thus proposed that the human decidua contains either two different types of DSCs or DSCs at different stages of differentiation. These investigators put forward the assumption that DSCs are related to bone marrow stromal precursors (24,28). Recently the detection of donor-derived endometrial cells in four patients after HLA-mismatched bone marrow transplantation was described (29).…”

“…In decidual issue, the predominant cell is the typical stromal type cells, namely decidual stromal cells (DSC) [28]. PDB-MSCs and DSC are both fibroblast-like cellular morphology, but PDB-MSCs are different from DSC because the presence of HLA-DR in DSC is significantly higher than that of PDB-MSCs [29]; DSC does not have the multipotent differentiation potency. Therefore, decidua basalis is a new source of MSCs.…”

“…Fertil Steril 2011. trophoblast invasion (148,149). Bone marrow-derived decidual cells ultimately determine pregnancy outcomes (150)(151)(152)(153)(154)(155)(156)(157)(158)(159). Because monocyte-derived leukocytes and uterine natural killer cells constitute 20%-40% of all endometrial cells, the types of cells trafficking to the endometrium is likely to be critical to the establishment of endometrial receptivity (148,160,161).…”
