Anticancer activity of fungal l-asparaginase conjugated with zinc oxide nanoparticles

Abstract: Demand for developing novel delivery system for cancer treatment has increased due to the side effects present in intravenous injection of L-asparaginase. Nanoparticles are used for delivering the drugs to its destination in cancer cure. Nanobiocomposite of zinc oxide nanoparticles conjugated with L-asparaginase was produced by Aspergillus terreus and was confirmed using maximum UV-Vis absorption at 340 nm in the present work. The presence of functional groups like OH, C-H, -C=N and C=O on the surface of nanob… Show more

“…In the present investigation, optical transitions have been observed for all the treatments which range from 332 -346 nm (Table 1). Similar absorbance spectra was observed in fungus mediated synthesis of zinc oxide nanoparticles (Baskar et al, 2013). It is clearly evident as depicted from the absorbance data that SPR absorbance tends to vary among different treatment combinations, owing to its sensitivity to nature, size and shape of the particles formed and also dependent upon particle to particle distance as well as its surrounding media (Kumar et al, 2014).…”

“…In connection with that, evolving nano-based therapeutics has received substantial attention over the last two decades [2][3][4][5]. Researchers are tried to design the synthesis of nanoparticles for various applications which include therapeutics and diagnostics purposes, based on their cellular mechanisms and the advanced technology in nanomaterials [1]. Besides, silver-based nanoparticles have received more attention, due to their enhanced properties of physio-chemical and biological characteristics based upon the preparation of the nanoparticles by using additional elements [6].…”
