Antibodyome development post‐immunization with hepatatis B virus vaccine (836.1)

Abstract

Medical students at Sahlgrenska Academy receive Hepatatis B surface antigen (HBsAg) vaccination prior to their studies in infectious medicine. Peripheral blood samples are collected prior to and post‐vaccination for detection of antibodies developed for core and surface antigen. A small population never develop the required anti‐HBsAg titers required for a full protection despite multiple vaccination doses. We intend to utilize FACS to select the mature B‐cell population of the blood samples. RNA will be extracted and the variable region of immunoglobulin will be amplified and subsequently sequenced using NGS (next generation sequencing). The newly developed antibodies against HBsAg will be detected through subtraction of antibodyome post‐ and pre‐immunization.
