“…In the Hai River system in northern China, the RQs of norfloxacpin and lomefloxacin ranged from 0.007 to 0.11 (Chen et al 2018). Similar results were also observed in the rivers located in central China; for example, the RQ of 13 antibiotics belonging to sulfonamides, tetracyclines, and fluoroquinolones detected in the Han River were demonstrated to have a value below 1, regardless of the concentration variation in seasons (Hu et al 2018). In addition to urban surface-water systems, a limited number of studies have Integr Environ Assess Manag 2020:43-52 © 2019 SETAC DOI: 10.1002/ieam.4204 attempted to measure the presence and assess the risks of antibiotics in rural areas, but the findings in the rural area were comparable to the present study concentrating on urban surface-water systems.…”

“…Their results showed that the hazard quotients of antibiotics were higher in the sediment than those in the water body of the Hanjiang River. Moreover, antibiotic mixtures posed higher ecological risks to water resource in central China than aquatic organisms [32].…”

“…3 In addition, SDZ was found to be the most abundant contaminant in some waterways and sediments. 4 MFCs were developed as biological processing technology, and belong to the biological electrochemical system. 5 They can use various organic substrates (small molecules such as sugar, fatty acid, protein) to generate electricity through the biological oxidation process.…”
