Extracts from different parts of W. somnifera have been evaluated for various biological activities, such as cholinesterase inhibition (9,10), anti-inflammatory properties via cyclooxygenase-2 enzyme inhibition from leaf extracts (11), antibacterial properties (12) and sex hormone deficiency regulation in rats with diabetes (13).
