Antibacterial Effect of Silver Nanoparticles Prepared from Sophora flavescens Root Aqueous Extracts against Multidrug-resistance Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus

Abstract: Green synthesis of metal nanoparticles (NPs) from plant extracts has attracted significant interest in modern medicine. Therefore, this study prepared an aqueous extract of Sophora flavescens roots, which are used in folk medicine to treat several diseases, including bacterial infections. In addition, silver NPs (AgNPs) were synthesized from root extract using the green synthesis method. The NPs were diagnosed using modern methods. Additionally, the antibacterial activity of the root aqueous extract and AgNPs … Show more

“…The maximum inhibition zones were 18 mm at a concentration of 500 µg/ml of CuCo 3 NPs, whereas the 11 mm minimum inhibition zones were 62.5 µg/ml of CuCo 3 NPs (Figure 15). The results obtained were identical to the previous study results [31,32,33,34]. These various inhibition diameter zones are a result of significant differences in interactivity between bacteria and Cu NPs.…”

“…They can also form symbiotic relationships with other organisms, such as plants and animals, and use them as hosts for growth and reproduction. In some cases, fungi can even cause death (Ann et al, 2019;Al-Hayanni et al, 2022). Environmental factors, such as temperature, oxygen levels, and minerals can encourage the growth and diversity of fungi in the region.…”

“…Petri dishes containing solid PDA were prepared with tetracycline (25 mg/L) added to prevent bacterial growth. After that, 0.1 ml of each solution of magnesium oxide nanoparticles with concentrations of 25, 50, 100, and 200 ppm were taken separately and spread on the nutrient medium by the diffusing glass rod [36], while the comparison treatment included spreading 0.1 ml sterile distilled water on the nutrient medium and for each treatment. Three dishes for each of the two pathogens.…”
