Background: Despite the fact that fluoride-based remineralization technologies have dominated preventive dentistry for the past century, but new and innovative nanomaterials approaches are transforming the industry. A variety of unique nanomaterials are now easily available to assist remineralization of dental enamel surface. Objective: investigate the effect of indium oxide nanoparticles application in comparison to de-ionized water and sodium fluoride on human tooth enamel by assessing the morphological changes in enamel ultra-structure. Using a field emission scanning electron microscope, x-ray diffraction, and ultraviolet visible absorption to evaluate the physical characteristics of indium oxide nanoparticles created by laser ablation in liquid. Method: Teeth samples were seventy-two divided randomly into two phases; each phase consists of study and treated groups with indium oxide nanoparticles, control positive treated with sodium fluoride, and control negative with deionized water. Each group was consisted of twelve teeth, from each group two teeth for scanning electron microscopy and the rests were for energy dispersion spectroscopy. Result: result showed change in chemical composition of dental enamel was recorded for both preventive and treatment groups after nanoparticles application and this was supported by energy dispersive spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope. Conclusion: Laser prepared indium oxide nanoparticles colloidal suspensions were found to be effective remineralizing agent to dental enamel and thus can be considered as an alternative to sodium fluoride mouth wash.

Nanoparticles (NPs) are referred to as tiny materials in size ranging from 1 to 100 nm. Unique characteristics of the NPs, including small sizes and high surface area, appropriate reactivity, proper stability, great strength, and many more, have resulted in their wide use in numerous fields. Among different techniques reported for synthesizing the nanoparticles, electro-hydrodynamic atomization or electrospray has been identified as a well-practiced and high efficient technique for the formation of fine and homogenous NPs from a liquid under the influence of electrical forces. This process allows feasible encapsulation of different drugs, vitamins, and proteins applicable in the targeted drug delivery systems. Since the release rate of the loaded pharmaceutical materials could be easily tuned via varying the properties of core and shell components. Herein, we summarized the importance of the electrospray technique for the production of drug-loaded nanoparticles applicable in controlled drug delivery systems.

In this study, pure CdO and CdO‐CuO nanopowders with different dopant concentrations are synthesized by the hydrothermal method. Structural properties of the nanopowders are characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), morphological properties and elemental analyses are characterized by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM), optical properties are characterized by UV–vis spectroscopy, and electrical properties are characterized by the current–voltage technique. XRD data show that nanopowders are polycrystalline and crystallinity decreases with the doping concentration. In the analysis of FESEM images, it can be concluded that the morphology of the particles is shaped as needle‐like, spherical‐like, and randomly oriented nanorods forms from the cube form. Also, by joining those nanorods, spherical‐like microstructures occur, and while the dopant concentration increases, echinus‐like forms are obtained. The energy bandgap of the nanopowders decreases with an increased dopant concentration of CuO. It is observed that the dopant concentration of CuO also changes the electrical properties.
