Abstract:Gliotoxin is a secondary metabolite of various fungi belonging to the class of epipolythiodioxopiperazines. The mechanism of gliotoxin cytotoxic activity on eukaryotes is established, while the precise interaction between gliotoxin and bacteria has not been clarified yet.
