Anti-Trypanosoma cruzi antibody detection in eastern Andalusia (Spain)

Abstract: The excellent specificity of SODe antigen for the detection of antibodies to T. cruzi in donors lead us to affirm that the serological test performed with this biomarker could provide a useful screening and confirmatory test method for cases of Chagas disease.

“…BALB/c mice were also protected from the challenge with Brucella abortus following intrasplenic immunization with the pcDNA‐SOD vaccine , as this type of immunization triggered an immunological response associated with the Th1 immune response, and cytotoxic T lymphocytes able to eliminate intracellular bacteria . Trypanosoma cruzi iron SOD also appears to be immunogenic, as dogs that were naturally infected produced anti‐SOD antibodies .
