Anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of Ferulago angulata

Abstract: Introduction: Ferulago angulata from the Apiaceae family, has high flavonoid content and is detected to have anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects. Objectives: In this study, we sought to determine the components of essential oil and to estimate total phenol and flavonoid contents of its various extracts. We also aimed to find out the anti-nociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects of essential oil, hydro-alcoholic and phenolic extracts of F. angulata aerial parts. Materials and Methods: The plant’s… Show more

“…Due to the side effects of chemical drugs, several herbal medicines have been studied for their possible antinociceptive and anti-inflammatory effects. Antinociceptive effect has been reported for various plant essential oils including Satureja hortensis, Dracocephalum kotschyi, Bunium, persicum, Ferulago angulate, zingiber officinalis (Hajhashemi et al, 2002;Golshani et al, 2004;Hajhashemi et al, 2011;Munda et al, 2018;Hajhashemi et al, 2020).…”

“…Hence, screening of plants and natural products is a useful paradigm for radioprotection. [13][14][15] Ferulago angulate is a member of the Apiaceae family, which is used to reduce pain and inflammation traditionally. 16 There are many phenolic, flavonoid compounds and certain monoterpenes such as αand β-pinene, cis-ocimene, and borneol acetate in the leaves and stems of F. angulate.…”
