Anti-Interference Aircraft-Tracking Method in Infrared Imagery

Abstract: In this paper, we focus on developing an algorithm for infrared-imaging guidance that enables the aircraft to be reliably tracked in the event of interference. The key challenge is to track the aircraft with occlusion caused by decoys and drastic appearance changes resulting from a diversity of attacking angles. To address this challenge, an aircraft-tracking algorithm was proposed, which provides robustness in tracking the aircraft against the decoys. We reveal the inherent structure and infrared signature of… Show more

“…The former experiments were conducted on synthetic infrared imagery, composed of simulated aircraft and a real cloud background. The aircraft was simulated based on the OpenScene-Graph (OSG) toolkit and was rendered according to its infrared signatures [37][38][39][40]. The generation of the simulated image was integrated with the navigation and guidance processes of the missile.…”

“…The infrared signature research of the target is the premise of analyzing its detectability (Li, N. et al 2016;Chen, H. et al 2019;Cheng, W. et al 2019;Sun, W. et al 2019;Wu, S. et al 2019;Nam, J. et al 2020). The high-temperature plume and the high-temperature of the aircraft skin produced by the stealth aircraft in highspeed flight have prominent infrared radiation characteristics.…”

“…The infrared seeker recognizes the target by sensing infrared energy. Therefore, the infrared seeker is easily disturbed by the infrared decoy that is released by the target [12,13]. The process from releasing the infrared decoy to seeker recognition of the real target is called the anti-infrared decoy state.…”
