Anti‐Inflammatory Effect of Feiyangchangweiyan Capsule on Rat Pelvic Inflammatory Disease through JNK/NF‐κB Pathway

Abstract: Objectives In this study, we aimed to illustrate the preventive effect and possible mechanisms of Feiyangchangweiyan capsule (FYCWYC) on rat pelvic inflammatory disease (PID) model. Methods To construct the rat PID model, upper genital tract was infected by multipathogen, and then drugs were orally administered for 8 days. The histological examination, immunohistochemical analysis, and ELISA were carried out. Furthermore, Western blotting was used to analyze the expression of Akt, MAPKs, NF-κB p65, and IκB-α i… Show more

“…Three specimens were mounted on each glass slide. Inflammatory cell count was performed by counting the mean number of macrophage cells, neutrophils, as well as uterine and ovarian lymphocytes [24] using a 40 jar magnification and 40x objective microscope. Inflammatory cells are considered identified if infiltration of inflammatory cells, including lymphocytes and neutrophils, was observed.…”

“…The laboratory study confirms that Cortex phellodendri and Humulus japonicus exert good therapeutic effect on mice with chronic PID by inhibiting the expression of inflammatory cytokines and neutrophil infiltration [ 13 ]. Furthermore, Feiyangchangweiyan is reported to suppress infiltration and apoptosis of inflammatory cells in uterine tissues by preventing NF-κB nuclear translocation in pathogen-induced PID rats [ 14 ].…”
