Anti‐inflammatory and bactericidal effect of keratin/harmaline/ginkgo biloba electrospun nano fibres as band aid

Abstract: This study represents the extraction of keratin from hedgehogs spines doped with Harmaline and Ginkgo Biloba, and electrospun on the surface of cotton fabric (animal rights laws were performed). The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) was used to investigate the morphology of produced keratin Harmaline Ginkgo Biloba (KHG). The thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) shows the weight loss of samples in different temperatures. The aim and goal of producing KHG on the cotton fabric surface was to use as … Show more

“…Compared with other film-forming methods, electrospinning is the most effective method to prepare keratin-based nanofibrous films with controllable pore size, which may range from tens of nanometres to several micrometres. Keratin-based nanofibrous films formed using electrospinning are endowed with various attractive attributes, such as good filtration performance, high biocompatibility, and low trans-epidermal water loss [ 113 , 114 ]. However, electrospinning often requires the use of organic solvents, which are difficult to recover due to the particularity of the operation.…”

“…In 2022, Zohoori’s group extracted the keratin of hedgehog spines and doped the extract with Harmaline and Ginkgo Biloba, and later, the mixture was electrospun on the cotton surface to produce multifunctional band-aid. These nanofibers exhibited anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects . Nitric oxide-propelled nanomotors were prepared for endotoxin removal and bacterial biofilm elimination to treat infected burn wounds.…”

“…These nanofibers exhibited anti-inflammatory and bactericidal effects. 10 Nitric oxide-propelled nanomotors were prepared for endotoxin removal and bacterial biofilm elimination to treat infected burn wounds. First, silica layers were deposited on Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles (Fe 3 O 4 NPs) using tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and 3-aminopropyl triethoxysilane.…”
