Abstract: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a worldwide epidemic that is only increasing as the years progress, and as of 2019, affecting over 37 million. T2DM is a chronic condition caused by reduced insulin secretion and increased insulin resistance. Due to insulin not operating at optimal conditions, blood glucose rises and remains high, thus disturbing metabolic hemostasis.
