Anti-detection technology of cat eye target based on decentered field lens

Abstract: Optoelectronic imaging equipment is easy to expose to active laser detection devices because of "cat eye" effect. In this paper, we propose a new structure of optical system to reduce the retroreflector effect of a cat eye target. Decentered field lens structure is adopted in the design without sacrificing imaging quality and clear aperture. An imaging system with ±30 • field of view is taken for example. The detailed design and simulation results are presented. The results indicate that this kind of optical s… Show more

“…In recent years, as an advanced imaging technology with distinguished signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and transient detecting ability, active range-gated imaging has been widely studying and applied in space awareness and military field [1]- [5]. Thanks to the rapid progress of laser and optics technology and imaging detector, the integrated performances of range-gated imaging have made great improvements, especially, the time resolution of some subsystems or components have reached the nanosecond level [6]- [9]. However, in practical applications, many delays from each subsystem or component create a critical barrier to further enhancements of time resolution to transient imaging [10]- [13].…”

“…The optical system enhances the identification ability of the whole system by functioning in the full waveband. The off-axis three-mirror system gets rid of central obscuration by decenter and/or tilt [28] and stabilizes overall system resolution and energy. A beamsplitter separates light into the visible (400 nm-750 nm) and long-wave infrared (LWIR, 8 µm-12 µm) waveband.…”
