“…A. iwayomogi and C. longa are frequently used to treat 'dampness and phlegm' and 'blood stasis', respectively, and both of these conditions are closely related to hyperlipidemia in TKM and TCM (Xie et al, 2012). Our previous study described the anti-atherosclerotic effect of ACE in apoE knockout mice (Shin et al, 2014), and the present study was the first to evaluate the anti-hyperlipidemic properties of both ACE and its constituents, A. iwayomogi and C. longa, in isolation. Per our hypothesis, a 10-week high-fat diet induced hyperlipidemia by significantly elevating serum levels of TC, LDL, and triglycerides; these altered lipid profiles were significantly attenuated by AI, CL, and ACE treatments.…”

“…20 Hence; garlic and lasuna definitely might be an encouraging treatment with statin for hyperlipidemia, also these herbal medications may decrease the dose of atorvastatin and so minimizing the adverse effects and improving the hypolipidemic effect. 21 Therefore; the present study showed significant hypolipidemic effect of garcinia cambogia alone or in combination with atorvastatin through 8 weeks period of treatment. In this study garcinia, cambogia produced significant reductions in serum lipid and improve other lipid parameters like VLDL, and LDL p < 0.05.…”

“…Turmeric plant can be used as a potentiated plant to treat the hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis due to the presence of bisdemethoxycurcumin in the rhizome of this plant (Shin et al, 2014). The ethanolic extract was given to the atherogenic rabbit and positive results were shown (Quiles et al, 1998).…”
