Anthropometric Dimensions of Foot in Northwestern Iran and Comparison with Other Populations

Abstract: Background: Foot anthropometry will enhance the fit and comfort of shoes. There are limited published data on the foot anthropometry of Iranians. Therefore, this study aimed to collect foot anthropometric data in northwest Iran to compare dimensions between the two genders and also with the corresponding data from other populations. Methods: A total of 21 dimensions of the right foot were measured in 290 males and 290 females using a digital caliper and a tape. Digital patterning and different percentile value… Show more

“…Zbog usporedbe dimenzija stopala između dva spola i također s odgovarajućim podacima drugih populacija, Hajaghazadeh i sur. su dodali druge dimenzije [28]. Dodane su dužine drugog, trećeg i četvrtog nožnog prsta koji su izmjereni u smjeru Brannockove osi tako da se dobije 21 dimenzija.…”

“…Anthropometric data is collected using both traditional and modern methods. Traditional methods use readily available devices such as calipers to measure dimensions (Agyapong Afrifah & Glalah, 2021; Hajaghazadeh et al, 2018), but modern methods digitally model the human body utilizing stereophotogrammetry, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and 3D scanning methods (Fu & Luximon, 2020; Li et al, 2008). Researchers apply these methods to collect data in variety of field, including military (da Silva et al, 2018), nutrition (Kamruzzaman et al, 2021), medicine (Utkualp & Ercan, 2015), sport (Pineau & Bouslah, 2019), and design (da Silva et al, 2020).…”
