Abstract:Throughout the world, human development activities have been modifying terrestrial surface to varying degrees. These anthropogenic landscapes can cause ecological constraints that can affect nonhuman primates in several forms. The extent and degree of these effects depends on the magnitude of a primate's ecological and behavioral plasticity. Thus the myriad nonhuman primate responses within anthropogenic landscapes offer both challenges and opportunities for primate conservation.
