Anterior chamber depth measurements in phakic and pseudophakic eyes: Pentacam versus ultrasound device

Abstract: In phakic eyes, ACD measured with the Pentacam and with US was the same. However, in pseudophakic eyes, the difference was significantly lower when the ACD was measured with the Pentacam. Therefore, in pseudophakic patients, further evaluation of ACD data with the Scheimpflug-based system is necessary.

“…Our ACD values by the immersion US technique were the same as those in a study of the Orbscan by Auffarth et al 24 In our study, immersion US central ACD values were significantly lower than AS-OCT values; however, our data are comparable to those in the literature. 7,[18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] In the study by Baikoff et al, 18 the ACD was shallower with the IOLMaster (Carl Zeiss) than with a prototype of the Zeiss AS-OCT, and a high correlation (r 2 Z 0.71) was observed between the 2 devices.
