Antenna Tracker Design With A Discrete Lyapunov Stability Based Controller For Mini Unmanned Aerial Vehicles

Abstract: Communication systems have recently been very important in mini unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), which include many research subjects. Directional antennas are generally used in communication systems, and they should continuously and efficiently follow the UAVs with minimal errors. For this purpose, an "Antenna Tracker" system, which is capable of real-time autonomous orientation based on GPS data from the UAV, was designed. In the beginning, the system's 3-dimensional solid model was obtained in SOLIDWORKS TM … Show more

“…This theorem proves instrumental in achieving a stable control approach by scrutinizing the interplay between the applied torque and the resultant tracking angles. The approach aligns closely with the propositions in the work by Iscan et al (2022), underlining a systematic and well-founded approach for architecting the position controller within the antenna tracker system.…”

“…The antenna performs elliptic scanning around the azimuth and elevation positions called direction angle (DA) as an up to MIT within a certain angular range. To create an elliptical scanning route, the azimuth and elevation axes must be referenced to the angles shown in equations ( 1) and ( 2) (Iscan et al, 2022)…”

“…At the heart of AT systems, the control of the actuators and the design of the steering structure are just as important as the tracking algorithm itself. The design of the steering structure and its position controller, by Iscan et al (2022), are based on their work. The steering mechanism must be capable of scanning the entire space with two axes.…”

“…The continuous model, Equation (54), is discretized using Euler forward difference equation. In this study, discrete feedback linearization controller design is performed in order to track the reference LVV given within the range of physiological conditions using Lyapunov stability theorem similar by İşcan et al [37].…”
