Abstract: H istopathological examination of the rectal tissue revealed necrosis with inflammatory exudates and abundant amoebic trophozoites (see Fig. 1B to D in the photo quiz), confirming the diagnosis of Entamoeba histolytica infection. There was no evidence of malignancy.
