Abstract

Background: As the safety of workers is one of the concerns of managers, as it represents a direct or indirect source of costs, it is important to analyze the variables that can condition the safety climate and, consequently, the risk behaviors of workers. Objective: This work aims to analyze the predictive effect of the relationship between death anxiety and physical safety climate on passion for work, as well as the effect of the individual attribute, risk perception. Method: A quantitative study (model verification) was developed using a self-response questionnaire that groups the measurement instruments of the variables that was applied to a sample of the working population (N = 206). Results: The model that contemplates death anxiety, risk perception and safety climate has a greater predictive effect in the sense of harmonious passion when compared to obsessive passion. Application: The safety of a worker should not be seen only in physical terms, but increasingly the psychosocial and personality aspects of workers must be taken into account, seeking to understand their influence on behavior in order to create healthier environments with better results. productive.
