The smart vehicles are one of critical enablers for automated services in smart cities to provide intelligent transportation means without human intervention. In order to fulfil requirements, Vehicle-to-Anything(V2X) communications aims to manage massive connectivity and high traffic load on base stations and extend the range over multiple hops in 5G networks. However, V2X networking faces several challenges from dynamic topology caused by high velocity of nodes and routing overhead that degrades the network performance and increases energy consumption. The existing routing scheme for V2X networking lacks energy efficiency and scalability for high velocity nodes with dense distribution. In order to handle the challenges, this article proposes a scalable and energy-efficient routing scheme called Dynamic proactive reactive routing for 5G (DPR5) for high mobility speed and dense environment. As compared to existing schemes it uses a single routing table and efficiently minimizes the energy consumption in dense environment, improves node 's lifetime upto 42%, and optimizes network performance by reducing the packet loss ratio upto 46% in a high velocity dense environment.

Multi-hop Wireless Network (MWN) requires the existing of wireless nodes that communicate via a wireless channel. Thus, selecting optimal paths between the communicant nodes is a major challenge. Many researchers are focusing on this topic and proposed some routing protocols that help the nodes to learn multi-hop paths. Multi-hop wireless network is used for several types of applications, like military, medical care and national security. These applications are important and critical, so they require a certain level of performance and security during data communication. Securing the transmission of data in a multi-hop network is a challenge since the devices have limited resources like memory and battery. In this paper, we propose an optimal and secure routing protocol. The main goal of this proposal is to improve the performance and the security of such network by selecting a secure route between the source and its target destination. To secure data transmission phase, we propose to create a key shared between the source and the destination. Since the devices have limited energy, we propose to take into consideration the energy of the intermediate nodes of the selected route. Extensive simulations are performed using the Network Simulator (NS2) to validate the proposed protocol. This proposal is compared with the secured Ad-Hoc On-demand Distance Vector (SAODV) in terms of end-to-end delay, overhead and number of compromised devices.

Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) consists of wireless nodes interacting with each other impulsively over the air. MANET network is dynamic in nature because of which there is high risk in security. In MANET keeping node and routing secure is main task. Many proposed methods have tried to clear this issue but unable to fully resolve. The proposed method has strong secure anonymous location based routing (S2ALBR) method for MANET using optimal partitioning and trust inference model. Here initially partitions of network is done into sectors by using optimal tug of war (OTW) algorithm and compute the trustiness of every node by parameters received signal strength, mobility, path loss and co-operation rate. The process of trust computation is optimized by the optimal decided trust inference (ODTI) model, which provides the trustiness of each node, highest trust owned node is done in each sector and intermediate nodes used for transmission. The proposed method is focusing towards optimization with respect to parameter such as energy, delay, network lifetime, and throughput also above parameter is compared with the existing methods like anonymous location-based efficient routing protocol (ALERT), anonymous location-aided routing in suspicious MANET (ALARM) and authenticated anonymous secure routing (AASR).
