Abstract:We investigate theoretically and experimentally anomalous spectral holes, i.e. the cancellations of certain frequency modes inside a wide frequency comb, in a fiber-loop circuit with an incorporated phase modulator (PM). During the process of phase modulation, the frequency modes couple between each other accompanying with a nonreciprocal phase, which mimics an artificial gauge potential for photons. As the light circulates in the fiber loop, coherent interference effects occur between frequency modes in disti… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
