Abstract:We investigate the role of the chiral anomaly in hydrodynamic and crossover regimes of transport in a Weyl or Dirac semimetal film. We show that the magnetic-field-dependent part of the electric conductivity in the direction of the magnetic field develops an unusual nonmonotonic dependence on temperature dubbed anomalous Gurzhi effect. This effect is realized in sufficiently clean semimetals subject to a classically-weak magnetic field where the electron-electron scattering dominates and the relaxation of the … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
