The magnetic relaxation phenomenon for the Fe 73.5 Cu 1 Nb 3 Si 13.5 B 9 alloy in the asquenched state and after annealing is investigated. It is stated that the disaccommodation intensity distinctly decreases after the heat treatment of the sample at 673 K for 1 h due to the annealing out of some free volumes. Moreover, the intensity of the disaccommodation drops almost to zero after the sample crystallization occurs. From the results obtained, it becomes evident that the amorphous phase is the main source of the magnetic after-effect in the nanocrystalline samples. The present results are discussed under the assumption that the relaxation processes are described by a gaussian distribution in ln τ .
