Abstract:Anodic oxidation of PhTeR (R = CF3CH2, CF2H, Me, Ph) was carried out in methanol containing various supporting electrolytes (YO− M+) such as p-tosylate, benzenesulfonate, acetate, and benzoate salts using a divided cell to provide the corresponding hypervalent tellurium compounds such as monomeric PhRTe(OY)2 and dimeric PhR(OY)Te–O–TePhR(OY) predominantly in moderate to good yields.
