Abstract:In this contribution a new constitutive model for transversely isotropic materials is presented. The proposed model is based on the multiplicative decomposition of the deformation gradient into one part containing the deformation only in the direction of anisotropy and another part describing the remaining deformation. This clear assignment leads to a decoupling of the stress‐state. The model is investigated analytically in view of simple tension. Moreover, an inhomogenous deformation is solved using a finite … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
