Abstract:The face-centered cubic (fcc) antiferromagnet is a typical example of a geometrically frustrated system in three dimensions: the classical nearest-neighbor fcc Heisenberg model exhibits a ground state manifold with large accidental degeneracy. Here, we study the most general nearest-and nextnearest-neighbor exchange model allowed by the space-group symmetry of the noncentrosymmetric half-Heusler compounds, which includes a variety of anisotropic coupling terms. We show that, while the so-called Kitaev and symm… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
