Abstract When the cyclopentaarsane (AsC2H5)6 is reacted in a 1:2 or 1:5 molar ratio with metallic potassium in THF, soluble dipotassium catenaarsanes of the assumed stoichiometry K2(ASC2H5)5 (1) or K2(ASC2H5)2 (2), respectively, are formed. On reaction with (C5H5)2TiCl2 in THF, both the red 1 or the greenish 2 lead to the same dark-brown, airsensitive triarsanato complex (C5H5)2Ti(AsC2H5)3 (3).
