Angular scattering effects in energy-gain spectra of A6+(A=Ne,Ar,Kr,Xe) one-electron capture from He

Abstract: Translational energy-gain spectra for single charge exchange in A6++He (A=Ne,Ar,Kr,Xe) collisions at 200-2000 eV energy have been recorded. It is found that in all systems at least two final channels are active. The experiments are compared with a simple semiclassical multistate collision model. The influence of angular scattering effects on energy-gain spectra is examined.

“…These roughly equal cross sections lying inside and outside 9C are due to the fact that the behavior at the crossing in the entrance channel is diabatic, which leads to nearly equal transfer probabilities on the way in and out. In order to quantitatively analyze the data, we carried out MCLZ calculations by using the method of Andersson et al [32]. The calculations were convoluted with the angular resolution and normalized to approximately match the experimental peak heights.…”

“…Several experimental measurements on single-and multielectron transfer by Ne q+ ions from atomic and molecular targets have been reported [13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20]. There have, however, been no previous experimental measurements of translational energy and cross sections for electron transfer reactions in collisions of low energies by Ne q+ ions with CO 2 and H 2 O to the best of our knowledge.…”
