With the penetration of renewable generation, electric vehicles and other random factors in power systems, the stochastic disturbances are increasing significantly, which are necessary to be handled for guarantying the security of systems. A novel stochastic optimal control strategy is proposed in this paper to reduce the impact of such stochastic continuous disturbances on power systems. The proposed method is effective in solving the problems caused by the stochastic continuous disturbances and has two significant advantages. First, a simplified and effective solution is proposed to analyze the system influenced by the stochastic disturbances. Second, a novel optimal control strategy is proposed in this paper to effectively reduce the impact of stochastic continuous disturbances. To be specific, a novel excitation controlled power systems model with stochastic disturbances is built in the quasi-generalized Hamiltonian form, which is further simplified into a lower-dimension model through the stochastic averaging method. Based on this Itô equation, a novel optimal control strategy to achieve the intra-region probability maximization is established for power systems by using the dynamic programming method. Finally, the intra-region probability increases in controlled systems, which confirms the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy. The proposed control method has advantages on controlling the fluctuation of system state variables within a desired region under the influence of stochastic disturbances, which means improving the security of stochastic systems. With more stochasticity in the future, the proposed control method based on the stochastic theory will play a novel way to relieve the impact of stochastic disturbances.

Task-oriented social systems involve workers and tasks, which can typically be modeled by bipartite networks. The absence of workers may cause some tasks cannot be finished in time, thus hampering the smoothing operation of the whole system. In this study, we focus on the robustness analysis of such bipartite task-oriented social networks under the absence of some workers. In particular, taking hospital logistics systems as an example, we propose four attack strategies: efficiency-based attack, centrality-based attack, diversity-based attack, and influence-based attack. The experiments on nine real hospital logistics systems show that these systems are especially vulnerable to the diversity-based attack. Different hospitals may present different patterns: some hospital logistics systems are relatively robust against these attacks while others are more vulnerable. The former hospitals are relatively small in size and adopt a global task assignment mode in which the workers can be easily replaced by others. On the contrary, the workers in the latter ones are highly professional and irreplaceable due to the large scale of the hospitals and the adoption of a regional task assignment mode. We also design two task reassignment mechanisms to model the cascading failure of such systems. In this case, the working load plays an important role in the robustness of these systems. Moreover, we find that the robustness and efficiency seem to be negatively correlated with each other, and how to balance the two in real systems still remains an open problem.

A New Phase Sequence Exchanging Control Method for Reducing Impulse Current and Voltage

Phase sequence exchanging technology (PSET) is a recently developed emergency control technology for out-of-step power systems. The PSET system does not satisfy the condition of synchronization however, and will produce impulse current and impact torque. In this paper, the impulse current and impact torque produced by PSET are calculated. Taking the three-phase short circuit at the generator outlet as a reference, the impulse current generated by PSET is determined to be less than half of the threephase short circuit at the generator outlet, which is within the system's endurable range. When the system connection reactance is 0.543 times larger than generator direct axis sub-transient reactance, it can endure the impact torque produced by PSET. To reduce the impact and improve the practicability of PSET, a splitphase switching control method is proposed in this paper. The characteristics of fast breaking are utilized to turn off the solid-state circuit breaker separately when the three-phase current is at zero-crossing, and after exchanging the phase sequence, it is turned-on separately when two sides of the three-phase voltage are equal. An example is provided to verify that the impact of PSET can be dramatically reduced by using the proposed control method instead of the traditional simultaneous switching control method.
