Angiographic features of drug-induced bilateral angle closure and transient myopia with Ciliochoroidal effusion

Abstract: BackgroundTo report five cases of acute drug-induced angle closure and transient myopia with ciliochoroidal effusion and to analyze angiographic findings of these cases.MethodsThis study is an observational case series. Five patients with acute drug-induced angle closure and transient myopia with ciliochoroidal effusion were examined by fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) and ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM).ResultsFive patients presented with bilateral visual loss and ocular pain after… Show more

“… 7 , the achromatic echelette design of Symfony shows a greater tolerance of refractive error than the diffractive multifocal IOLs 31 . This characteristic and multifocality add to the hybrid multifocal-EDOF IOL’s effectiveness and stability in different clinical situations 32 . Previous studies and clinical experience implied that refractive data tended to remain stable 3 months after surgery 5 .…”

“…Moreover, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection causes hyponatremia (33) and changes in choroid thickness (34,35), which may be predisposing factors for APAC. Moreover, insufficient prone position ventilation (36), poor sleep (37) and systemic drugs (38) can also induce angle closure.…”
