Abstract:BACKGROUND
Patients with Becker muscular dystrophy (BMD) have a high risk of developing hyperkalemia, rhabdomyolysis, and malignant hyperthermia when exposed to volatile anesthetics and depolarizing muscle relaxants. Patients with BMD are also prone to respiratory depression after general anesthesia.
