“…But intestinal parasite free pregnant women hematological profiles were (HGB = 14.8g/dl, HCT = 40.5%, MCV = 95.1fl, MCH = 33.6 pg, and MCHC = 35.5g/dl). This study is comparable with other studies conducted on pregnant women [15,27]. Therefore, parasitic infections had adverse impacts on the hematological profiles of pregnant women.…”

“…In the current study, pregnant women below 20 years and between 20-24 years were 7.2 and 2.8 times more likely to be anemic compared to those in other age groups. This coincides with similar studies from Ethiopia (23) and Nepal Demographic and Health Survey (10), where the women below 20 years were found associated with anemia. The likelihood of anemia among women belonging to Buddhist, Muslim, Kirat, and Christian religion was 3.1 times higher than those belonging to the Hindu religion.…”

“…e Ethiopian Ministry of Health tried to mitigate the problem of anemia and its impact through the implementation of essential nutrition action [15]. Despite the high magnitude of anemia among pregnant women which results in high morbidity and mortalities among pregnant women and high economic losses in Ethiopia, the majority of the previously conducted studies in different parts of the word including Ethiopia were done using a cross-sectional study which is weak in displaying real association between anemia and its risk factors [10,[16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24].…”
