Androglobin, a chimeric mammalian globin, is required for male fertility

Abstract: Spermatogenesis is a highly specialised process, involving multiple dedicated pathways and regulatory check-points. Defects ultimately lead to male sub-fertility or sterility, and numerous aspects of mammalian sperm formation remain unknown.
