And the beat goes on

Hiroki A. Ueyama,
Peter C. Block

Abstract: Key points Technical advancements in devices and the development of techniques to optimize valve implantation have been the cornerstone of improvement in outcomes of TAVR. While device success and the rate of paravalvular leak have decreased over time, the rate of permanent pacemaker implantation following self‐expanding valve systems remains high. Reduction in the rate of permanent pacemaker implantation compared to surgical aortic valve replacement remains a high priority.
