Abstract:Ternary catalyst mixtures are employed for industrial-scale rare-earth-metalpromoted diene polymerization. Thereby, the role of organoaluminum compounds in activating the rare-earth-metal component is still poorly understood. Mixed chlorido/ amido complexes [Ln{N(SiMe 3 ) 2 } 2 (μ-Cl)(THF)] 2 are selected as well-defined precursors according to the chlorination/alkylation activation sequence. The heteroleptic lanthanide tetraisobutylaluminate complexes [Ln{N(SiMe 3 ) 2 }(AliBu 4 )(μ-Cl)] 2 (Ln = La, Nd) form w… Show more
Alcoholysis of Cp′3Ln (Ln = La, Ce; Cp′ = C5H4SiMe3) generate high-yielding (72-97%) bimetallic LnIII complexes of Cp′2Ln(μ-OR)]2 [R = Et, iPr, or C6H4-4-tBu)]. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction of these complexes...

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
