Background: Subgrouping of diseased population, based on Deha-Prakriti (DP), phenotypic classification of Ayurveda will explore the variation in the disease severity, which further aid in the management of the disease more precisely and selectively. But there is a paucity in the data generation. Amavata (~Rheumatoid Arthritis) is one of such diseases, resulting from the conglomeration of Ama and aggravated Vata gets lodged in the joints. Aim & Objective: To evaluate variations in the severity of symptoms, duration of morning stiffness, DAS28 (Disease Activity Score in 28 Joints), and Disability Index (DI) among different Vata predominant Deha-Prakriti (DP) individuals of Amavata (~Rheumatoid Arthritis). Materials & Methodology: The study was conducted among 155 clinically diagnosed patients of Amavata, who were screened for DP assessment through the CCRAS-PAS scale. Those who were found to have Vata predominant DP were sub-grouped into Single Vataja (V), Vata-Pittaja (VP), and Vata-Kaphaja (VK) DP, based on the proportion of the doshas in the output of scale. Demographic profile, the severity of the symptoms, duration of the morning stiffness, DAS28, and DI were assessed and calculated using SPSS software version 20.0, p≤0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Kruskal-Walli’s test revealed that Single Vata predominant DP patients were found to have severe Sandhi-shula (Joint pain) (p<0.0001), Shunatanga (Numbness of the joint) (p-value at 0.0069), Nidra-Viparyaya (Irregular sleep patterns) (p-value at 0.0012) than VP and VK DP individuals. Sandhi-Shotha (Joint swelling) (p-value at 0.0299), Angamarda (generalized body pains) (p-value at 0.0130), Alasya (laziness) (p<0.0001), Gaurava (Heaviness) (p<0.0001), and Apaka (delayed digestion) (p-value at 0.0254) were found severe in VK DP, whereas Trishna (Thirsty) (p<0.0001), Nidraviparyaya (p-value at 0.0012) were more severe in VP DP individuals. One-way ANOVA revealed that the duration of morning stiffness (2.03±0.2 hours, p-value at 0.446), DAS28 (6.85±0.175, p-value at 0.0035), and DI (1.87±0.54, p-value at 0.0003) were found significantly high in single Vataja than VP and VK Deha-Prakriti. Conclusion: The disease severity in terms of duration of morning stiffness, DAS28, and DI were found more severe in Single Vataja DP. The severity of the signs and symptoms also varied according to DP.

Human Body constitution (prakriti) defines what is in harmony with human nature and what will cause to move out of balance and experience illness. Tridosha defines the three basic energies or principles that determine the function of our body on the physical and emotional levels. The three energies are known as VATT, PITT and KAPH. Each individual has a unique balance of all three of these energies. Some people will be predominant in one, while others will be a mixture of two or more. Ayurveda-dosha studies have been used for a long time, but the quantitative reliability measurement of these diagnostic methods still lags behind. A careful and appropriate analysis leads to an effective treatment. To collect a meaningful data set, a questionnaire with 28 different characteristics is validated by Ayurveda experts. Authors calculate Cronbach alpha of VATT-Dosha, PITT-Dosha and KAPH-Dosha as 0.94, 0.98 and 0.98, respectively to check the reliability of the questionnaire. Authors analyzed questionnaires of 807 healthy persons aged 20-60 years and found 62.1% men and 37.9% women. The class imbalance problem is resolved with oversampling and the equally distributed data set of randomly selected 405 persons is used for the actual experiment. Using computer algorithms, we randomly divide the data set (8:2) into a training set of 324 persons and a test data set of 81 persons. Model is trained using traditional machine learning techniques for classification analysis as Artificial Neural Network (ANN), K-Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naive Bayes (NB) and Decision Tree (DT). System is also implemented using ensemble of several machine learning methods for constitution recognition. Evaluation measures of classification such as root mean square error (RMSE), precision, recall, F-score, and accuracy is calculated and analyzed. On analyzing the results authors find that the data is best trained and tested with CatBoost, which is tuned with hyper parameters and achieves 0.96 precision, 0.95 recall, 0.95 F-score and 0.95 accuracy rate. The experimental result shows that the proposed model based on ensemble learning methods clearly surpasses conventional methods. The results conclude that advances in boosting algorithms could give machine learning a leading future. Deha-Prakriti (DP) is Ayurveda’s one-of-a-kind contribution, established at conception and cannot be changed throughout one’s life. There are seven varieties of DP. Vataja, Pittaja, Kaphaja (Shleshmala), Samsargaja [combination of two Dosha] i.e. Vata-Pittaja, Pitta-Kaphaja, Kapha-Vataja, Sannipataja [combination of three Dosha] i.e. Vata-Pitta-Kapha. The first and most important aspect of Dashavidha-parikshyabhavas (ten important examination factors to be known by the physician) is the DP assessment since it plays a crucial part in Rogi-Pariksha (evaluation of the patient) and Roga-Pariksha (assessment of the disease). DP allows a physician to assess the condition of Koshtha (digestion system), Agni (digestive capacity), Bala (strength), and Ayu (life-span) in both healthy and diseased people. It may also help a physician forecast illness susceptibility, severity of signs and symptoms, disease activity scores, and bio-markers such as hematological, pathological, and biochemical indicators. Based on the severity, a physician may prepare the appropriate diet-chart, medication, dose, Anupana (co-drink to the primary medicine), and treatment technique (either Shodhana karma- purificatory measure or Shamana karma- Palliative measure). In light of the above facts, the current study aims to explore the DP-based susceptibility to Amavata, its severity, and the research strategy for future studies. An overview of evidence-based study on developing Deha-Prakriti with diverse illness conditions may be provided in this work, allowing for the revalidation of ayurvedic literature-based assertions.
