“…Indeed, 2 more recent studies using new software designed specifically for volumetric analysis of the right ventricle from RT3DE data sets ( Figure 9A) and from a combination of short-and rotated long-axis CMR views found high levels of agreement between the 2 techniques. 51,52 Moreover, the RT3DE measurements were both more accurate and more reproducible than several 2DE-based measurements. 51…”

“…Third, echocardiography-derived RV EF was not examined in the present study. At present, however, echocardiography-derived RV EF can be calculated by 3 dimensional echocardiography which requires dedicated equipments, software and expertise similar to MRI [17]. Thus, the scope of the present study focusing on TAPSE, a simple parameter of the 2 dimensional echocardiography, can be justified from a practical viewpoint.…”

“…Furthermore, the analysis algorithm used in this study has been extensively validated against CMR. 14,26,31,32 Moreover, limited availability and costs of CMR as well as ethical reasons prevented its use for studying healthy subjects having no clinical indication for CMR examination. The inclusion of weight as a predictor may be questionable as it may change rapidly in adults.…”
