Analyzing the EEG Signals in Order to Estimate the Depth of Anesthesia using Wavelet and Fuzzy Neural Networks

Abstract: -Estimating depth of Anesthesia in patients with the objective to administer the right dosage of drug has always attracted the attention of specialists. To study Anesthesia, researchers analyze brain waves since this is the place which is directly affected by the drug. This study aimed to estimate the depth of Anesthesia using electroencephalogram (EGG) signals, wavelet transform, and adaptive Neuro Fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). ANFIS can estimate the depth of Anesthesia with high accuracy. A set of EEG sign… Show more

“…Fortunately, we maybe use these novel operators to solve new MCDM problems in practice, such as industrial site selection [46], intrusion detection [47], EEG signals analysis [48], consensus model [49], temporary disaster debris Management [50], etc. The limitation of proposed operators is that if we consider interrelationships among more than three criteria, more parameters will be given, which may bewilder experts, such that they perhaps cannot decide how to choose the values of parameters.…”

“…Recorded in electroencephalograms, these tests register the alternations that the brain produces due to its electrical activity over time. It has been widely used in the study and treatment of different clinical problems and diseases, such as diagnosis of epilepsy [15], depth of anaesthesia [44], or sleep disorders [11].…”

“…Bipolar fuzzy sets [7]-a generalization of Zadeh's idea of the fuzzy set [8] which itself expands the classical set-are sets whose elements have positive and negative membership degrees. Hybrid models of fuzzy sets have been applied in many different sciences [9][10][11][12]. The first definition of fuzzy ideals in BCK/BCI-algebras was by Xi [13] in 1991.…”
