Analytical considerations for K-downcomer and bellows

Abstract

The analytical studies discussed herein were prepared as part of the technical background needed to conduct the tests and model studies required by Design, Development and Research Contract DDR-III, between the General Electric Company and Washington State University. They have revealed limits within which the taking of model data should be confined, if these data are to be applicable to prototype conditions. It is also probable that features of the downcomer design, other than the orifice plate, will control its capacity.
