“…Using this approach, the dissipated energy in the FPZ of ductile adhesives is considered in the final result of the fracture energy. Other researchers based their crack length measurement on digital image correlation (DIC) recordings to avoid the difficult crack length monitoring [47,48].…”

“…The MMB test excels the other tests by enabling to vary the mixed-mode ratio up to pure tension and shear, and is often a preferred choice to build fracture envelopes of adhesives with significant data points. 13,14 The SLB specimen, developed by Yoon and Hong, 15 is relatively easy to fabricate and test in three-point bending. The geometry is similar to that of the DCB and ENF tests, but one of the adherends is shorter at the cracked portion, such that the bending load induces both tension and shear at the crack tip due to absence of support to the lower adherend.…”

“…It is supposed that a stable crack growth is required for reliable energy release rate curves determination. Different type of test configurations have been used to investigate the mixed-mode I/II fracture of different materials, such as composite laminates [1][2][3], wood [4][5][6], or adhesively bonded joints [7][8][9][10][11].…”
